Sponsor a child - Lift the barriers and help young athletes fulfil their potential

Poverty is a trap and can present young people from following their dreams. The Chrysalis Youth Empowerment Network (CYEN) works with disadvantaged children across Uganda to nurture their talent and give them a chance to shine. Our new athletics sponsorship programme gives individuals and corporates an opportunity to support budding sport stars and help transform their life chances.

Every child deserves hope for the future but poverty is the enemy of aspiration. CYEN is working across rural Uganda, providing access to a quality education and helping develop their talents, whatever they may be.

Chrysalis Uganda’s new secondary school boasts a 400m running track and its athletics club is helping develop Uganda’s future champions. Its young stars are already breaking records with the help of their Paralympian coach but desperately need sponsors to secure long-term support.

Make a life-changing contribution to a young athlete.

For just £25 a month you can sponsor a primary age athlete to be educated at a local school and access Chrysalis Uganda’s first-class facilities. Once they are old enough to attend the Chrysalis Secondary School, £35 a month will enable them to continue receiving the support they need to thrive. Sign up today and help one of our children secure the future they deserve.

To donate please follow the link below each child’s profile and email Ben Parkinson to confirm the young athlete you would like to support - socentafrica@gmail.com

Three reasons to sponsor young athletes in Uganda…

Your sponsorship will have a major impact on the lives of the children, their families and their wider communities. Your sponsorship will:

·      support the development of the children as athletes and as leaders and changemakers in their communities. We identify those children with athletic abilities and talent and encourage them to reach their potential by joining the programme.

·      promote the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and excellence.

·      promote equality of opportunity. Our programme supports young female athletes and provides education for girls in a safe environment.
